Spreading the light of knowledge among the people of Sakhipur since 1949.
Established on 3rd May 1949 by its founder and land donor, Sheikh Hayat Ali Sarker, the school was first named Sakhipur Pallimangal High School. During the Pakistan era, it was selected under the British education initiative "Pilot Project", leading to its renaming with the suffix "Pilot".
In 1969, it gained government recognition. Later, under the "Transformation into Model Schools" project (2009), it was upgraded and renamed with "Model" added to its title.
On 11th October 2018, the school was nationalized by the Secondary and Higher Education Division. Subsequently, on 27th February 2024, 31 teachers and 9 staff were appointed on an adhoc basis, with salaries regularized under government rules.
The school offers education from Class 6 to 12 under the Bangla medium general curriculum. Previously a boys-only institution, it became co-educational in 2015. Academic sessions include half-yearly and annual exams.
